Design and Development
Instructional Materials | "The Best Online You"
As a team of three, we were tasked with designing an instruction for a teacher or trainer to teach students a concept, procedural skill or attitude of our choice. Our target learners were considered relatively naive about the topic, the instruction could not exceed two hours, and the instruction would not utilize computers, but was assumed to be all face-to-face interactions.
Our team chose to design instruction to teach the concept of an online presence and the procedure for creating and building a professional online presence utilizing various social media platforms. Our target learners were college-aged students familiar with social media but unfamiliar with what a professional online presence means. In this section, I highlight the instructional materials we created.

Web-based Instruction | "How to Market Your Study Abroad Experience to Employers"
This individual project required skills in following a specific design process while creating a web-based instruction on a topic of our choosing utilizing the First Principles of Instruction. The major deliverables included a paper prototype of the instruction as well as creating and testing the web-based instruction, and writing a detailed report of our process and findings. In addition, a mastery assessment of the learning objectives was created. This section highlights portions of my web-based instruction.
Evaluation
Three-Phase Evaluation Project | Indiana University IST Ph.D. Program
For this project I had to utilize the skills learned in class to complete a three-phase evaluation project for the Instructional Systems Technology Ph.D. Program at Indiana University. This included responding to a Request for Proposal (RFP) with an evaluation plan, task schedule and timeline, developing data collection instruments, analyzing the collected data and constructing a detailed final report. In this section, I highlight my final evaluation report.
Technical Writing
Media Writing Assignment | "Before, During and After a Career Fair"
For this assignment I wrote three articles pertaining to the preparation, attendance, and follow-up for a college career fair. Requirements of the assignment included: Creating a style guide discussing the elements of tone, content selection, reading level, and application of annotations and sidebars. Designing the visual layout of the digital series with appropriate imagery utilizing a professional layout program. All images were individually created being mindful of the image's functional role within the text. In this section I highlight the article series I created.
Analysis
Learning in Organizations | Needs Analysis of Career Coach Training In Undergraduate Career Services
This semester-long needs analysis project included a project proposal containing the background context of the organization, the key stakeholders and constraints, data collection instruments and a project timeline. After designing appropriate data collection instruments, and collecting and analyzing the data, a report was created to explain the findings and present recommendations for improvement. In this section I highlight my final report and presentation to my client featuring the data analysis.
